Another winner from talented winemaker Matt Burton - a lively and vibrant Hunter Valley semillon that is made for immediate summer enjoyment. There is plenty of fresh fruit citrus and stone fruit flavours here, but also a fine, elegant structure. This should be enjoyed with freshly shucked oysters, or perhaps a sashimi platter, fresh from the fridge. There is only 11.3% alcohol here, so you can enjoy an extra glass. If you haven't tried a Hunter semillon for a while, this might just kindle or rekindle a love affair. $32. https://gundogestate.com.au/
