What a great buy! It is hard to go past a well-made, flavoursome chardonnay like one. It offers some lovely varietal characters, with stone and citrus fruit flavours to the fore, making it an excellent quaffer for $11.

Capel Vale 2007 Debut Verdelho

Verdelho is often casually dismissed, but can be very refreshing when made well - and this is. Fresh, zingy and zesty, it is the perfect wine for a warm autumn afternoon. There are some tropical fruit flavours but also some lovely crispness. $18.
