Narelle King from Nagambie-based Tar & Roses concentrates on making Mediterranean-style, food-friendly wines and this was one of the stars of a recent Red & White trade tasting with its bright fruit flavours, savoury notes and immediate drinkability. Older oak plays a support role and there are some dried herb notes, as well. It would be a perfect partner for pizzas, pasta dishes with a meaty ragu, or simply for sipping in front of the fire over winter.
